Pedet - innovative restaurant concept in Renoma 100 percent leased
In the fourth quarter of this year, Globalworth, the owner and manager of Renoma, will open Pedet, a new gastronomic and cultural zone in Wrocław’s Renoma. The space, whose name refers to the long history of the Universal Department Store, will offer seven dining concepts that will provide an extraordinary culinary experience. The centerpiece of the new space will be a bar with a separate area for cultural and artistic events and live music.
Pedet Renoma is an innovative gastronomic zone located on the side of Pure Square, along with outdoor restaurant gardens. Pedet’s offer will be made up of seven original food outlets represented by well-known restaurateurs.
The first of these is the well-known Meatologia in Wroclaw. The restaurant’s specialties include Argentine and American Black Angus cattle steaks, Japanese Wagyu beef and fine lamb from New Zealand. In addition to taking advantage of the on-site dining offerings, visitors to the establishment can also purchase products to take home.
Italian and Spanish specialties will be served by Giro and Tapas, a place also created by leaders in local gastronomy.
The PEDET space will be home to the well-known Wroclaw concept Giro. There you will be able to taste a cross-section of Italian cuisine led by pizza and popular desserts by Piotr Zabawa. The second concept of this team will be Spanish tapas, which will be created by well-known chef Adrian Bêben. The team from places such as Liquid Form, Straight from the Bridge, Do Jutra and Level 1 will be responsible for the bar and serving original cocktails.”
comments Marcin Mielczarek, co-owner of GIRO and TAPAS restaurants.
An offer for lovers of Asian cuisine will be provided by the Vietnem and Thai concepts, which have been successfully run for years by Linh Nguyen, an enthusiast and popularizer of Asian cuisine. Another culinary offering is street-food, The Fry with Belgian fries and Spanish churros. The Fry successfully operates a location in another mixed-use building in the Globalworth portfolio, Warsaw’s Hala Koszyki.
Visitors to Renoma expect not only a select fashion offer, but also an unconventional gastronomic offer. Therefore, as the owner and manager of Renoma, we make sure that the time spent here has value and brings satisfaction to visitors in every way. The finishing metamorphosis of Renoma is a response to these challenges, and our idea for Pedet shows that the restaurant zone, is more than a commercial space. A carefully selected and unique gastronomic offer will guarantee guests an unparalleled culinary experience. Combined with the event area, bar and stage, the iconic Wrocław building will be a high standard venue that will also provide an unforgettable artistic experience.”
says Barbara Wojcik, Asset Management & Leasing Director, Globalworth Poland.
The time spent at Pedet Renoma will also be a great opportunity to taste regional specialties in innovative renditions. Meetings at the table will be facilitated by a pleasant interior with original design. A distinctive element of the decor will be the combination of Renoma’s art-deco style and elegance. Visitors’ attention will be drawn to the neon sign with the Pedet logo, referring to Renoma’s historic name. Wroclaw-based design studio 3XA is responsible for the Pedet’s interior design project.
Visitors to Renoma will also be able to enjoy the restaurant section with waiter service on the Kosciuszko Square side, which is scheduled to open in spring 2024.
Renoma is one of the most recognizable buildings in Wroclaw and also an icon of modernist architecture. The building opened in 1930 under its original name, Wertheim Department Store, and was designed by Berlin architect Hermann Dernburg. The facades of the building were decorated with sculptures of heads of people from different regions of the world, which still exist today, intended to symbolize not only the international origin of the goods offered, but above all cultural diversity and openness to others. The Wertheim Department Store, which was destroyed as a result of warfare, was partially rebuilt and opened in 1948 as the General Department Store, and all its floors were not put into use until 1985, at which time the building took its current name chosen in a competition by the citizens of Wroclaw. In 2009, Renoma was rebuilt and expanded according to a design by Wroclaw architect Zbigniew Maćkow. The lower floors housed more than 120 stores and services, while the upper floors were occupied by offices and a restaurant area. The building is currently undergoing another metamorphosis, which will see the restoration of the pre-war courtyard architecture, as well as new functions. Renoma is one of three office and retail projects in Globalworth Poland’s portfolio, alongside Warsaw’s Hala Koszyki and Katowice’s Supersam.
